Resumo

O termo “suingue” é amplamente utilizado na música popular e, mais especificamente, no contexto do gênero samba. É difícil precisar o significado exato do termo. Parecer ser um fenômeno de tangibilidade bastante frágil, mas fundamental num discurso musical fluente e convincente. Nesta pesquisa busco entender o que é "suingue" tendo como principal campo de observação o contexto do samba carioca, analisar qual a importância do contexto cultural para o fazer musical suingado e investigar se é algo que se pode ensinar ou aprender. Para tanto, analiso quais processos de ensino e aprendizagem são empregados na construção do fazer musical, levando em conta três níveis de familiaridades com o samba: (1) o aprendiz nativo (2) o aprendiz local(3) o aprendiz estrangeiro.

The term "swing" is widely used in popular music and, more specifically, in the context of the genre samba. It is difficult to the exact meaning of the term. It appears to be a rather fragile tangibility phenomenon, but fundamental in a fluent and convincing musical discourse. In this research i seek to understand what is "swing" with the primary field of view of the carioca’s samba context, consider how important the cultural context for the music swung to and investigate whether it is something you can teach or learn. To this end, we analyze which teaching and learning processes are employed in the construction of music making, taking into account three levels of familiarity with the samba: (1) the native apprentice (2) local apprentice (3) foreign apprentice.
