Resumo

O presente artigo é parte integrante de um Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso apresentado no ano de 2015. Nele, três questões norteadoras foram levantadas com o intuito de investigar o que a produção acadêmica nacional vem apontando ultimamente sobre as relações entre Música, Neurociências e Cognição. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica dos anais do Simpósio Internacional de Cognição e Artes Musicais (SIMCAM), disponíveis online, em busca de dados quantitativos acerca da produção científica que relaciona estes três eixos de estudo. Os objetivos centrais da pesquisa foram mapear, reunir e tabular os dados já obtidos em pesquisas com este perfil e investigar o que as mesmas têm apontado. O artigo buscou apresentar um panorama atual desta produção na tentativa futura de aproximar o conhecimento produzido à realidade da docência. Embora a produção de estudos acadêmicos sobre estes três temas esteja visivelmente em crescimento, notou-se que o número de publicações que relacionam os três elementos simultaneamente ainda seja incipiente.

Music education, neurosciences, and cognition: A literature review of proceedings of the SIMCAM

This article is part of a final paper presented in 2015, concerning the Brazilian academic production on the relation of three guiding topics: Music, Neuroscience and Cognition. Therefore, a literature review was carried out of the annals of International Symposium on Cognition and Musical Arts (SIMCAM), available online in search of quantitative data of scientific studies that relates those three research areas. The main objectives of the research were to map, collect and tabulate the data obtained in prior researches with this profile and investigate what they have pointed out. This paper seeks to offer an overview of those scientific works, in order to approximate their results to daily teaching practices. Although the production of academic studies on these three topics is visibly growing, this article shows that the number of publications that list the three elements simultaneously is still incipient.
