Children's Choir of the Music School of Sobral: learning from the perspective of parents/guardians of choir students

This paper deals with the learning of children of the Choir of the Music School of Sobral. Such approach is necessary for the reflection on the pedagogical practices performed in the choir, aiming to improve the musical learning of the children in the group. The objective of this research was to identify the main learning processes that exist in the Children's Choir from the perspective of the parents/ guardians of the students. This purpose was achieved through a case study that had as instruments of data collection questionnaires applied to parents/ guardians, documentary research and literature review. The research was conducted at Music School of Sobral and the universe of research covered the parents and guardians and the children of the choir. Regarding the data analysis, it showed that, for parents/ guardians of children, children's choir collaborates in raising self-esteem, provides musicalization and socialization and helps in school development.
