Resumo

Esse artigo busca comentar os quatro lançamentos discográficos do Duo Abreu, compreendendo os três lançamentos analógicos da época de sua atuação e um lançamento digital contendo uma gravação para a Rádio BBC de Londres em 1970. Serão abordadas questões como repertório, violões utilizados, locais de gravação, engenheiros de som, produtores, fotógrafos, artistas gráficos, notas de encarte e contracapas. Tentará, também,elucidara questão das datas de lançamentos das gravações, cujas informações corriqueiramente apresentam dados desconexos. O texto observa, especialmente,que apesar da inegável maestria musical do duo,este foi amparado por um rol de grandes profissionais que ajudou a alçar a carreira que alcançaram ao longo dos anos, denotando um trabalho artístico conjunto. Sem todo esse aparato talvez os irmãos não tivessem alcançado o status que mantém até os dias atuais.

Investigating the Sérgio and Eduardo Abreu duo's discography

This article aims to comment the four discographic releases of the Abreu Duo, comprising the three analogue releases from the time of their performance career and a digital release containing a recording for BBC Radio in 1970. Subjects like repertoire, guitars, recording locations, sound engineers, producers, photographers, graphic artists and liner notes of the releases will be addressed. The article will also try to elucidate the subject of recordings release dates, whose information routinely presents disconnected data. Despite the undeniable musical mastery of the duo, the article claims that they were supported by a list of great professionals who helped to raise their career over the years, denoting a collaborative artistic work. Without all this apparatus, perhaps the duo would not have achieved the status that it maintains to this day.
