Resumo

Esta investigação tem como objetivo o estudo dos símbolos e seus significados na música da Banda Cabaçal dos Irmãos Aniceto em sua trajetória social e musical, buscando compreender os sentidos constitutivos de sua cultura no nordeste brasileiro e as relações sociais e culturais estabelecidas no contexto rural. Pode-se ao final do trabalho traçar relações importantes entre o simbolismo cultural e noções de identidade que permeiam a trajetória da banda e fazem com que a mesma figure há mais de cem anos nos mais importantes quadros da cultura popular.

Symbolic meanings in the music of the Cabaçal Band of the Aniceto Brothers

This research aims to study the symbols and their meanings in the music of the Cabaçal Band of the Aniceto Brothers in their social and musical history, trying to understand the meanings of its constituent culture in northeastern Brazil and the social and cultural relations established in the rural context. One can trace the end of the working relationships between major cultural symbolism and notions of identity that permeate the history of the band and make the same figure for over a hundred years in the most important paintings of popular culture.
