Resumo

A compreensão em música foi o tema abordado na pesquisa que me levou a refletir sobre os processos de construção de conhecimento musical vividos por crianças ao buscarem integrar múltiplos saberes quando iniciam seus estudos em ambientes formais de ensino de música. Tendo a Epistemologia Genética como referencial teórico, identifico uma dialética cognitiva na qual os sujeitos constroem representações mentais em música alternando processos figurativos, explicitamente perceptivos, ligados à ação real enquanto fazem música, e processos operativos, num movimento reflexionante destas ações para o plano representativo. Tais representações podem ser consideradas como paradigmas sobre os quais se torna possível criticar criteriosamente as intervenções pedagógicas a fim de propor, futuramente, intervenções mais adequadas às modalidades de funcionamento das estruturas do sujeito.

Mental representations in children as they learn to play instruments

Musical comprehension, the topic addressed in this research, has led me to reflect on the processes involved in the construction of musical knowledge experienced by children when seeking to integrate multiple knowledge at the start of their studies conducted in formal settings of music learning. Considering Genetic Epistemology as the theoretical reference, I identify a cognitive dialectic in which the subjects construct mental representations in music by alternating explicitly perceptive figurative processes, linked to the real action while making music, and operative processes, in a reflective move of these actions to the representative plane. Such representations may be considered as paradigms which allow for criterial criticism of pedagogical interventions with the purpose of creating acceptance for future proposals of more adequate interventions on the functioning modalities of the subject’s structures.
