Resumo

O texto procura reunir obras de campos distintos (música e artes visuais) que possuem na escuta do espaço circundante seu mote principal. Constrói uma breve justificativa do recorte conceitual no intuito de salientar as características do relacionamento ocidental com o real e contrapõe esta noção com modos de relacionamento de outras culturas. Em seguida, compara as estratégias de motivação da escuta do espaço em obras de John Cage, Max Neuhaus, Vivian Caccuri, Vânia Medeiros, Luc Ferrari, Janet Cardiff e Annea Lockwood, de modo a entendê-las, cada qual em sua singularidade, enquanto respostas poéticas e políticas à tendência pela visualidade no Ocidente.

Poetics and Politics of the Listening of Space on Six Sound Works

The text intends to bring together works of different fields (music and visual arts) that have on tha listening of surrounding space its main subject. It constructs a brief justification of the conceptual focus in order to emphasize tha characteristics of the Western relationship with the real and contrasts this notion with modes of relationship of other cultures. It compares, then, the the motivational strategies of listening to space in works by John Cage, Max Neuhaus, Vivian Caccuri, Vania Medeiros, Luc Ferrari, Janet Cardiff and Annea Lockwood, in order to understand them, each in its singularity, while poetic and political responses to the tendency by visuality in the West.
