O presente trabalho tem por objetivo discorrer sobre o entendimento teórico acerca do acorde de sexta aumentada à luz de diversos autores, tais como Schoenberg, Piston, Aldwell, Schachter, Cadwallader, entre outros, levando em consideração e evidenciando divergências nas abordagens da respectivas teorias no que diz respeito à origem, função e tipologia do referido acorde, o que aponta para a necessidade de pesquisas posteriores mais pormenorizadas.
The Augmented-Sixth Chord: Considerations About Its Origin, Tonal Function And Type Classification
This paper aims to discuss the theoretical understanding about the augmented-sixth chord in the light of several authors such as Schoenberg, Piston, Aldwell, Schachter, Cadwallader, among others, considering and highlighting the discrepancies in the approaches of their respectives theories regarding the origin, tonal function and type classification of the aforementioned chord which, by its turn, points to the need for more detailed research.
