Resumo

Este artigo apresenta, sob uma ótica fenomenológica, uma entrevista comentada com o compositor Rafael Felício. O roteiro desta entrevista foi estruturado com o intuito de compreender o processo criativo desenvolvido pelo compositor durante a composição da peça Aurora: uma história de amor em 3 haicais. Esta peça foi criada a partir de uma ação colaborativa entre cantor (aqui o entrevistador) e compositor e se insere no contexto de música vocal contemporânea de concerto. Para cada resposta obtida junto ao compositor, o artigo apresenta alguns Comentários do Intérprete, construindo, a partir de narrativa auto etnográfica, um diálogo sobre como a obra se revela a cada um dos envolvidos. Mesmo reconhecendo que a criação e a interpretação de uma peça musical são um fenômeno particular, acredita-se que esta iniciativa possa trazer contribuição para intérpretes e compositores ao oportunizar o debate sobre peculiaridades da prática de música contemporânea de concerto. A entrevista apontou dados particulares da dimensão criativa da obra tais quais: contexto da escolha do texto, modelo de estruturação da ideia musical no tempo e espaço, motivo da escolha da instrumentação, emissão vocal aspirada pelo compositor, motivo da escolha de recursos vocais não melódicos. Por fim, foi explanado pelo intérprete o modo como a compreensão de determinadas motivações do compositor influenciou suas escolhas interpretativas. Além da discussão teórica sobre aspectos como criação e interpretação, é disponibilizada a gravação audiovisual da peça na seção A obra deste artigo.

Contemporary vocal music: The creator’s perspective in a commented interview

This article presents, from a phenomenological perspective, a commented interview with the composer Rafael Felício. The script for this interview was structured in order to understand the creative process developed by the composer during the composition of the piece Aurora: a love story in 3 haicais. This piece was created from a collaborative action between singer (here the interviewer) and composer and it is inserted in the context of contemporary concert vocal music. For each answer obtained from the composer, the article presents some comments by the interpreter, building from a self- ethnographic narrative, a dialogue about how the work reveals itself to each of those involved. Even recognizing that the creation and interpretation of a musical piece is a personal phenomenon, it is believed that this initiative can contribute to interpreters and composers by providing the opportunity to debate the peculiarities of contemporary concert music. The interview pointed out particular data of the creative dimension of the work such as: context of the choice of text, model for structuring the musical idea in time and space, reason for choosing instrumentation, vocal emission aspired by the composer, reason for choosing non-melodic vocal resources. Finally, it was explained by the interpreter how the understanding of certain motivations of the composer influenced his interpretative choices. Thus, in addition to the theoretical discussion on the aspects of creation and interpretation, the audiovisual recording of the work is available in the A obra section of this article.
