Resumo

Este artigo trata da história do centenário Instituto Estadual Carlos Gomes, estabelecimento de ensino musical do estado do Pará. Os materiais necessários para a escrita dessa história foram buscados em depoimentos que constam em Barros e Vieira (2015), obra que compreende narrativas de 58 professores que atuam ou atuaram como docentes naquele estabelecimento. Nosso objetivo foi interpretar e analisar o conjunto dessas narrativas, tomando como fundamentos teórico-metodológicos, numa abordagem interdisciplinar, autores que tratam da memória, habitus e campo. A partir dessas lentes, emergiram seis categorias por meio das quais interpretamos e analisamos os relatos: herança, âncoras, memória, documentos/monumentos, atualização e estratégias. Os resultados da análise e interpretação das memórias sobre as vivências naquele estabelecimento levam a observar permanências e afãs de mudanças no campo, e que há, entre tantas lembranças e desejos de mudança, o intuito maior de que o Instituto Estadual Carlos Gomes permaneça como referência no ensino da música no Pará.

Memories of a music education establishment

This article deals with the history of the centennial Carlos Gomes State Institute, musical education institution of the state of Pará, Brazil. The materials needed for the writing of this history were searched in testimonies that are in Barros and Vieira (2015), a work that includes narratives of 58 teachers who work or have worked as teachers in this establishment. Our objective was interpreting and analyzing the set of these narratives, taking as theoretical-methodological foundations, in an interdisciplinary approach, authors dealing with memory, habitus and the field. From these lenses, six categories through which we interpret and analyze the narratives emerged: inheritance, anchors, memory, documents / monuments, update and strategies. The results of the analysis and interpretation of the memories in that leads to observe permanences and anxieties of changes in the field and that there are, among so many memories and desires of change, the greater intention that the State Institute Carlos Gomes remains as a reference in the teaching of music in Pará.
