Resumo

O texto propõe uma aproximação entre a mecanologia de Gilbert Simondon e a Sonologia e os Estudos do Som (sound studies), tomando como recorte inicial a maturação técnica e o emprego da heterodinação e da modulação em anel em diversas nas práticas sonoras do século XX. Ao final, discute-se a potencial contribuição da mecanologia para a sonologia.

Technology, mechanology and sonology: reverberations of the ring modulation in the sound panorama of the XXth century

The text presents an approach between the philosophy of techniques of Gilbert Simondon and the Sonology and the Sound Studies, taking as initial framework the development and the employment of heterodyning and of the ring modulation in different sound practices of 20th century. At the end, the potential contribution of mechanology to sonology is discussed.
