Resumo

Introdução: Em teatros musicados, como a ópera e o teatro musical contemporâneo americano, diferentes técnicas de canto visam garantir a projeção da emissão e a inteligibilidade do texto. A técnica do cantar belting introduziu conceitos estéticos como “voz metálica”, “sonoridade com muito brilho”, o que a diferencia da técnica lírica. Objetivo: Analisar as diferenças sonoras entre a emissão das mesmas notas com ambas as técnicas, sublinhando diferenças e semelhanças. Métodos: Análise espectrográfica vocal dos formantes das notas Mib4 e Mib5 emitidas em ambas as técnicas. Principais Conclusões: na emissão usando-se a técnica belting, antes da passagem para voz de cabeça, houve maior número de formantes em relação ao lírico, que podem ser os responsáveis pela sonoridade característica.

Spectrographic Differences of Issue of Belting Singing and Lyrical Singing

Introduction: In musical theaters, such as opera and contemporary American musical theater, different singing techniques aim to ensure the projection of the issue and the text intelligibility. The belting singing technique introduced aesthetic concepts as “metallic voice”, “sound too bright”, as distinct from lyrical technique. Objective: To analyze the sound differences between the issuance of the same notes with both techniques, highlighting differences and similarities. Methods: vocal spectrographic analysis of formants of Mib4 and Mib5 notes issued in both techniques. Main findings: in the issue using the belting technique, before moving to head voice, a greater number of formants in relation to the lyric, which may be responsible for the metallic and shrill feature.
