Resumo

O presente artigo pretende analisar as transformações que as canções de hip-hop sofreram ao longo das últimas décadas, tanto em suas características líricas quanto estéticas. O estudo parte da premissa do enfoque na palavra nesse gênero musical, que era tida como única fonte discursiva, evitando comunicação pelo beat para possibilitar a transmissão da mensagem de denúncia sobre as violências contra populações subalternas a partir da música. Apesar de ainda haver esses mecanismos discursivos, o gênero sofreu diversas transformações, agregando também outras pautas de discurso, o que também refletiu na estética das canções. A análise será feita entre duas canções de grande alcance nacional, uma do Racionais MC’s e outra do Baco Exú do Blues, tendo em torno de 20 anos de distância entre seus respectivos lançamentos. Espera-se, por fim, desmistificar diversas concepções que ainda se fazem presente em discussões acerca do rap brasileiro.

From report to pride: trends and thematic-aesthetical transformations of Brazilian rap

The present article aims to analyze the transformations that hip-hop songs have undergone over the last decades, both in their lyrical and aesthetic characteristics. The study starts from the premise of the focus on the word in this musical genre, which was considered as the only discursive source, diminishing communication by the beat to enable the transmission of the message of denunciation about violence against subaltern populations by the music. Although there are still these discursive mechanisms, the genre underwent several transformations, adding also other discourse patterns, which also reflected in the aesthetics of the songs. The analysis will be made between two songs of greater national reach, one of Racionais MC's and another one of Baco Exú of Blues, having around 20 years between their respective releases. It is hoped, finally, to demystify several concepts that are still present in discussions about Brazilian rap.
