Resumo

Este estudo investigou o canto intermediado pelas mídias eletrônicas e os processos de aprendizagem musical de cinco jovens, procurando responder à seguinte questão: que funções pedagógico-musicais exercem as mídias sobre as práticas músico-vocais dos jovens? E como subquestões: quais mídias eletrônicas os jovens utilizam para o canto? De que maneira os jovens o fazem? A metodologia adotada foi o estudo de caso, utilizando entrevistas e observações. Para compreender as relações dos jovens com a música, com o canto e as mídias eletrônicas, a investigação se apoiou em autores tais como: Gembris, Kraemer e Maas (1997), Baacke, Sander e Vollbrecht (1988), Münch (1998), Souza (1999; 2000; 2002) Schläbitz (1997; 2003) e Funk-Hennigs (2003). O estudo evidenciou que as mídias eletrônicas têm diferentes funções na atividade músico-vocal dos jovens e que, nesse ambiente midiático, incluem, muito particularmente, a auto-aprendizagem, a identificação e a autonomia nas escolhas musicais, além da possibilidade de cantar acompanhando seus cantores e suas músicas escolhidos.

This research has investigated the act of singing and the processes of musical learning of five young students using the electronic media. This study tried to answer the following questions: what music-pedagogical functions can be noticed from the media over the music-vocal practices of the youth? There are also sub-questions such as: what kind of electronic media are used by young people to sing? In which ways do young people use the electronic media for singing? The methodology of investigation used was the case study including interviews and observations. In order to understand the relationship between young people and singing with the electronic media, the theories referred in this research are based on concepts from authors as: Gembris, Kraemer and Maas (1997), Baacke, Sander and Vollbrecht (1988), Münch (1998), Souza (1999; 2000; 2002). Schläbitz (1997; 2003) and Funk-Hennigs (2003). The study has attested the different roles that the electronic media play in the youth music-vocal activities and in this mediatic environment are particularly included the self-learning, the peer identification and the autonomy in musical choices, besides the possibility of singing with singers and songs choosen by themselves.
