Resumo

O presente artigo discute a possibilidade de observação dos conceitos de divindade, feminino e maternagem com base em uma análise literária do texto Auto de Maria Mestra (1968), do dramaturgo paraibano Altimar Pimentel (1936-2008), seguindo o direcionamento teórico-metodológico da análise do discurso, na busca pela compreensão do aspecto semântico-simbólico, a partir de que considera os contextos histórico, social e político em que a obra foi criada. Os conceitos de divindade, feminino e maternagem são inter-relacionados na perspectiva semântica da construção textual, e estabelecem a presença de um forte simbolismo no texto dramatúrgico do espetáculo que, por sua vez, nos fornece indícios para a compreensão das relações entre este texto dramatúrgico e a concepção musical-sonora desta peça de teatro.

The three Marias: divinity, woman and mothering in the Auto de Maria Mestra

This article discusses the possibility of observing the concepts of divinity, femininity and motherhood, based on a literary analysis of the text of Auto de Maria Mestra (1968), by the brazilian playwright Altimar Pimentel (1936-2008), following the theoretical-methodological direction of discourse analysis , in the search for the understanding of the semantic-symbolic aspect from which it considers the historical, social and political contexts in which the work was created. The concepts of divinity, femininity and motherhood are interrelated in the semantic perspective of textual construction, and establish the presence of a strong symbolism in the dramaturgical text of the spectacle that, in turn, provides us with indications for the understanding of the relations between this dramaturgical text and the musical-sound conception of this play.
