Resumo

Esta pesquisa efetuou o mapeamento das trinta e cinco bandas de música em atividade na macrorregião norte do estado do Ceará, traçando seus perfis no intuito de verificar a existência de uma cultura patriarcal nessas instituições artísticas e culturais. Para obter tais informações, utilizou-se o protocolo da pesquisa de estudo de caso com a coleta de informações através de uma entrevista estruturada de maestros e/ou professores das trinta e cinco bandas da macrorregião. Os resultados demonstraram que, em sua grande maioria, as bandas da região apresentam uma problemática no que diz respeito às relações de gênero, discriminando a participação de jovens do sexo feminino nessas instituições, ao ponto de não haver nenhuma maestrina nesses grupos, o que indica a existência de uma forte cultura patriarcal nas bandas de música dessa macrorregião. Por fim o autor sugere algumas ações para a promoção da igualdade e da luta contra o patriarcado nas bandas de música através do Curso de Música –Licenciatura da Universidade Federal do Ceará no campus de Sobral.

The patriachal culture in the music bands in the Northern Ceará

This research made the mapping of the thirty-five music bands in activity in the macroregion north of the state of Ceará, tracing their profiles in order to verify the existence of a patriarchal culture in these artistic and cultural institutions. To obtain such information, this research used the protocol of case study research collecting information through a structured interview of conductors and/or teachers of the thirty-five bands of the macroregion. The results showed that, in their great majority, the bands of the region, present problems of gender relations, discriminating the participation of young women in these institutions, due to no female conductors in these groups, demonstrating the existence of a strong patriarchal culture in the music bands of this macro-region. Finally, the author suggests some actions for the promotion of equality and the fight against patriarchy in music bands through music department -undergraduate of Federal University of Ceará at Sobral.
